1669 Ureterosciatic Hernia: A Case Report and Review of the Literature

Abstract Aim Ureterosciatic hernia (USH) is an extremely unusual condition, with presentations ranging from asymptomatic, to flank pain, renal failure, septic shock and even obstructive uropathy. Due its rarity, there are no recommendations on the treatment of USH. We therefore carried out a systemic review published literature management. Method The was completed using three search terms: “uretero sciatic hernia”, “ureterosciatic hernia” “ureteric Healthcare Databases Advanced Search, producing 224 potential papers. This narrowed down 42 papers after PRISMA guidelines. All selected included case report USH, as well investigation management in English only. Abdominal pain most common presentation USH(64%), whilst only 9.5% were found incidentally. 79% all patients CT scan pathognomonic “curlicue” sign. 55% Half surgical intervention, open repair laparoscopic robotic(9.5% management)with known mortality. Conservatively management(16.6%) reserved asymptomatic/poor candidates, more likely be followed up compared patients(55.5%vs47.6%). Conclusions Our USH conservatively, emphasising similarities our different options.
